Magic maple: creating a cookbook in 10 weeks
The Federation of Québec Maple Syrup Producers is responsible for 72% of the global supply of maple syrup and represents 7,300 businesses. Maple from Canada, the UK brand for the Federation, was keen to promote the culinary versatility of this premium product, which is hailed as a catalyst for flavour.
The Federation received additional Canadian government funding for its UK activity and challenged Liquid, as its UK PR agency, to identify and deliver a cost-effective, impactful project that would appeal to key audiences and highlight the brand’s messages. We were given a 10-week deadline – and decided to think big.
Our chef director David Colcombe champions cooking from scratch, so we decided to create a maple cookbook. Once the project was approved by our client, we had just 10 weeks to develop and produce all the recipes, the text and the photography, as well as design and print “Pure Maple Magic.” All the work was completed in-house by Liquid.
We produced an 88-page, full-colour cookbook containing 30 original recipes celebrating the culinary applications and versatility of pure maple. The book served as an innovative brand marketing tool and was distributed to professional cooks, including Michelin star chefs, and industry influencers.
