Birmingham Tech Week

Project Details

In July 2025, Liquid was appointed by Tech WM to deliver a PR and media relations campaign for Birmingham Tech Week (20th – 24th October), a major trade event that brings together over 8,000 industry experts and regional leaders across five days of activity in venues throughout Birmingham city centre.

Approach

Liquid’s brief focused on driving awareness before, during, and after the event through a mix of compelling news content, thought leadership articles, and media interviews targeting key publications. Major announcements included a £187 million programme to embed AI and digital skills into classrooms, careers, and communities, and the launch of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) AI Missions Document—a ten-year vision to help regional SMEs harness AI for growth, innovation, and public service transformation.

Impact

The campaign had generated over 50 pieces of coverage across business, trade, and mainstream media, including two prime-time interviews on BBC Radio West Midlands. Of this, 58% was secured during October, coinciding with Birmingham Tech Week. The coverage had delivered over 200 mentions of Birmingham Tech Week and a 1.4 billion total audience reach, firmly establishing the event as a globally recognised, must-attend occasion, while also putting the West Midlands on the map.

A massive thank you to everyone at Liquid. It’s been an absolute pleasure and a real delight working with you this year. The partnership has been refreshing, collaborative, and — without a doubt a successful one in every sense.

All in all, this year’s visibility success for Birmingham Tech Week simply wouldn’t have been possible without your intent, creativity, and commitment to doing a fantastic job.
