WordPress Developer

Liquid is looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to both help support current client websites and to play a key role in developing new WordPress websites. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing and launching websites and will have the opportunity to grow and manage Liquid’s development offering as this becomes a crucial part of our studio setup.

Joining the Liquid studio at this exciting point in its growth within the wider business will provide a talented and motivated WordPress Developer with the opportunity to not only develop and maintain WordPress websites for a diverse range of clients in their day-to-day but also build the department to match demand.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with a friendly team of wider designers, digital and social media marketers and communications specialists on a varied client base at a fully integrated agency.

The role will be full-stack, however most emphasis will be on the development and launching of dynamic and responsive WordPress builds for both new and existing clients.

The ideal candidate would have several years of experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting WordPress websites.

  • A good working knowledge of PHP & MYSQL.
  • A good working knowledge of HTML & CSS.
  • Demonstratable experience of working within the WordPress system, including working with WordPress hooks, functions and structure.
  • As part of supporting existing WordPress sites you should be a good problem-solver and be able to effectively diagnose and resolve bugs.
  • A good understanding of JavaScript/JQuery/Ajax.

In the day-to-day the ideal WordPress Developer will be comfortable being the business’s go-to on all things WordPress and should have a good understanding of WordPress’ advantages and disadvantages when looking at proposals for prospective new clients. There may be opportunities to expand beyond WordPress to other elements of development, namely around integrations and automated workflows, however the initial bulk of work will be WordPress focused, including:

  • Development and coding of custom WordPress websites.
  • Development of client-specific custom functionality where applicable.
  • Proactively support existing WordPress sites as and when required.
  • Working with the dev team to support with a range of development tasks as suits.

Liquid recruitment bonus terms and conditions

You must apply to Liquid direct without the involvement of a third party, such as a recruitment agency.

You will become entitled to the bonus once you have been offered a permanent position.

Payment of the bonus is dependent on successful completion of the probation period (usually six months).

You must claim the bonus as soon as you receive your contract of employment.

The bonus must be repaid pro-rata if you leave Liquid during the first year of employment.
